Scrip Program

 THAT’S RIGHT – FREE MONEY FOR YOU AND MOTHER  TERESA CATHOLIC  ACADEMY!

 The scrip program is a tuition reimbursement program that enables you to earn tuition dollars without spending a single penny over
what you already spend on everyday budget items. 

Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers.  They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including Jewel, Crete Country Market, Walt’s, Ultra Foods, Crete Aurielos, Crete Northwoods, Subway, Kmart, Kohls, Home Depot, Walmart, Aeropostale, Shell, Speedway, Best Buy, Little Caesar’s and many, many others. 
 

How does it work? 
It’s simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, redeem them for full face value, and MTCA and you keep the difference.  In this program everybody wins:

• The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business....
• You get 90% of the merchant discount percentage applied as tuition reimbursement that involves
  no selling...
• MTCA gets a small recurring revenue stream from that remaining 10% after administrative costs.

The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money towards tuition reimbursement for our
school by shopping as you normally do – just by using scrip certificates instead of cash.  Scrip is a great way to monitor your budget too – by planning and spending scrip according to a weekly or monthly budget.

 A schedule for ordering scrip is listed on the school website.  Also, scrip is sold after all masses at St. Liborius Church.  Mass times are 5:30 pm Saturday, 7am and 10:30am Sunday.  Scrip is also sold after the 8:30 am Mass at St. Mary Church. 

 The MTCA Scrip program is a simple and effective tuition reimbursement program.  Here is a more specific example of how it works. 

You buy $100 Jewel card through the MTCA scrip program.  You pay $100 for the card and are able to purchase $100 worth of goods at the Jewel store.  Jewel sells the card to MTCA for $95.  You get 90% of that $5 towards your tuition or $4.50 in free money.  Some merchants are very generous – Northwoods in Crete for example, gives a 20% discount.  If you buy $100 worth of Northwoods certificates you would earn $18 in free money (90% of $20 discount) and get a great meal.  It really is easy and it really does add up!
